Plugged In. A Stillness Meditation.

This meditation is very raw. Wearing earplugs amplifies the sound of your breath, a similar feeling of breathing under water. This heightens your internal attention and can lead to stillness within yourself. By practicing a stillness meditation, you can tap into the calmness throughout your day. Victor Frankl said, “Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response.”

Step One.

Prepare by gently placing ear buds inside your ears. Begin the meditation by sitting still with your legs crossed and your hands faced upwards, resting on your knees. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing.

Step Two.

Connect your mind to your breathing, to a space of stillness within. Allowing the body to be the breath and to be still. Centred, grounded, aware. Ease your mind slowly by connecting to the stillness of your body. You are awake and alert and inwardly focused. A deeper silence, a deeper stillness within. The stillness permeates your mind, your body, your whole being.

Step Three.

When you are ready, slowly raise your hands up to the sky, stretch and flex your hands and slowly open your eyes, feeling the sense of calm inside yourself.
