Start Up Support
Monday Mind supports Sydney's start up culture and offers two free groups that assist entrepreneurs.
Solo Entrepreneurs Group
Join 287+ members
You can ask questions and suggest effective websites for entrepreneurs. The group is friendly and supportive, we welcome anyone with an interest in entrepreneurialism. As a Solo Entrepreneur it can be hard to make decisions when you don't have another person to bounce ideas off, which is why this group is handy.
Entrepreneurs Discussion Group at Chartered Accountants
It's free, it is convenient and you earn CPE hours.
All Chartered Accountants are welcome to join The Entrepreneurs Discussion Group! Each month we have a theme and we discuss books, research reports and videos on entrepreneurship. Our meetings are very interactive and you will be speaking to people in the group every session. Please bring your business cards because this is an effective networking event.
Our first meeting in July will have the theme Brainstorming and we will be discussing the Business Model Canvas from Harvard i-lab.
The following are our discussion themes for each meeting on the third Thursday of the month from 6pm-8pm:
- Brainstorming business ideas (21 July, 2016)
- Listening to customers and Target Markets (18 August, 2016)
- Building a Minimum Viable Product (15 September, 2016)
- Generating Publicity and Building a Profile for Entrepreneurs (20 October, 2016)
- Marketing and Social Media for Entrepreneurs (17 November, 2016)
- (no meeting in December)
There are many opportunities for Chartered Accountants to use entrepreneurial thinking to ramp up their careers, their accounting practices, contribute to Australia’s growing fintech or to start a side business. Come and learn about entrepreneurship because as Chartered Accountants you have a depth of business knowledge and by applying this expertise to entrepreneurship, you can each achieve a scalable business model.
Looking forward to seeing you at our launch meeting on Thursday 21 July (6pm - 8pm) at Chartered Accountants, 33 Erskine Street, Sydney. You must RSVP and be a member or provisional member of CAANZ.
